About the Author --

Harold “Corky” Logsdon is the author of The Disappearance of Booktown, Ohio; A Historical, Personal, and Environmental Perspective that tells a comprehensive story of the rural hamlet his family called home. The well-received book can be found at the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library in Fremont, Ohio and public libraries in Fremont and in Montgomery County, Maryland. A graduate of Fremont St. Joseph’s High School Class of 1960, he earned both a Bachelor of Science in Earth Science and a Master’s Degree in Geography at Bowling Green State University. After college he moved to Maryland and spent four-plus decades teaching Environmental Science, Earth Science, and Horticulture, first at Charles W. Woodward High in Rockville, and then at Walter Johnson High in Bethesda. Presently he is semi-retired and teaches part-time at the Academy of the Holy Cross in Kensington. A resident of Gaithersburg, he and his wife Karen have traveled and camped extensively throughout the United States and Canada.
