From the Book --
We have all been profoundly
affected in some way by a female figure: our mothers, grandmothers,
spouses, lovers, friends, or quite possibly by that pinnacle of human
creation, the child. These bonds and experiences live in our psyche and
help shape who we are and how we respond to others. Women have been, and
continue to be, central to the family structure and varying degrees of
religious worship and often provide nurturing, and embody gentleness,
kindness, and caring. They have been objects of great desire whether for
reasons of love or lust, and alternately the deepest roots of mens’
frustrations, jealousy, and envy. With the tremendous amount of
influence women have in the world and the impact they make on our daily
lives, it is no wonder they continue to be an inciting factor for acts
of supreme creation and utter destruction. The complexities of
womanhood, be they noble or malevolent, serve to invoke that great act
which makes our world richer and more diverse: Artistic Creation.
