From the back cover --
In this book, Tony Northrup
teaches you both the art and science to create stunning pictures. You
will learn how shutter speed, aperture, ISO, and flash impact your photos.
You will also learn how to compose pictures, understand the qualities of
natural and artificial light, and how to best add flash. More than 350
original pictures show the results of both good and bad technique, and
you can complete the practices at the end of every chapter to get the
hands-on
experience that you need. Beyond the fundamentals, Tony dedicates entire
chapters to portraits (including natural light, flash, and studio
environments), weddings, animals and nature, landscapes and cityscapes,
night and light painting, High Dynamic Range (HDR), macro/close-up, and
underwater photography. When pictures don’t turn out the way you hoped,
you can refer to Chapter 5 for tips on solving common problems. Because
digital photography is a fast-moving field, Tony invented a brand new
publishing process to keep this book up-to-date (as of July 2014). While
other books waste time describing outdated photography technology, this
book describes only modern DSLRs, mirrorless cameras, and
post-processing software. This book includes over 9 hours of online
video training to support different lessons throughout the book. In the
videos, you'll travel with Tony around the world as he takes portrait,
landscape, and wildlife photos. You can access the training using any PC
or smartphone with an Internet connection.
