From the back of the
book --
Pat’s Place was a family owned
and operated restaurant in Show Low, Arizona, for 30 years. It was
located on the Deuce of Clubs, the main street that runs through town.
Legend has it that Show Low was named because two ranchers played a game
of poker to decide which one of them would keep the property in town and
which one would move on, since there was only room for one rancher in
town. When the game dragged on, they decided the winner would be the man
who could “show low.” The “deuce of clubs” was turned up and the game
was over. Pat’s Place served three meals a day, seven days a week, to
White Mountain locals and tourists alike. As time passed, it became more
than just a restaurant as customers celebrated birthdays and other
special events, sports teams celebrated the end of seasons, and it
became a place for friends to meet. Two weddings were even held at Pat’s
Place. This cookbook contains recipes for all the restaurant’s breakfast
menu items, their famous homemade soups, as well as some history
about how Pat’s Place came to be. Take a trip down memory lane and try
some old-fashioned home cooking -- PAT’S PLACE STYLE!
