About the Author & Book --

The Author, Yasmin Miller, was born at United States Navy Fleet Activities Yokosuka, Japan on August 24, 1999.  Since she could hold a pencil she has spent most of her days drawing pictures which depict how she feels about people and events. Even today she carries around a dictionary, pretending to read it to everyone she meets.

Yasmin made 2 books by drawing pictures, then taping the drawings together, making a book. The pages were separated and scanned, then Yasmin was asked what each particular drawing was about. That is how she told her story.

This book and all pictures within were manufactured by the mind of a 5 year old girl whose father spends much of his time deployed on a U.S. Navy Ship. She seems to be expressing what all Military children go through. Her father constantly deploying may be the motivating factor in her telling stories about the good times she has with him. We now see, through her words, what all children whose mothers or fathers that are in our nation’s armed forces must be feeling.
