Once there was an eight-year-old boy who witnessed a very unusual birth. It was not the birth of a person but of a country. It took about three years for that country to be born. Nearly half a century later, the author, who was once that child, embarked on a journey to rediscover that boy and what he went through during that birth and its aftermath. In the following pages the boy and the man tell us about the experience of the birth, or perhaps the rebirth of this country. |
