When the Horses Come and Go In one evening, this small book of poetry will pull you into the world of horses and their human friends. Sue Cauhape tells how a fierce-eyed Appaloosa mare entered her life and opened up a world of adventures and characters unlike any told in books. She watches her daughter, Valerie, emerge from a pre-pubescent child to a sleek, capable young woman. With images of nature and portraits of people met along the way, Cauhape crosses urban and rural cultures to offer a modern glimpse of the American West for all to share. Sue Cauhape and her photographer husband, Jeff, live in Truckee, CA. Valerie and Abby have moved on to Chico, CA where Valerie studies Exercise Physiology with her eye on a career in personal training for athletes.
